TOBA TEK SINGH: Three members of the same family, including a child, were murdered on Wednesday near Chak 275-JB, Painsara, on Sirshameer railway station link road, Faisalabad, allegedly by their rivals.

Thikriwala police said that five members of the Arain group from Chak 83-JB, Gillan Wala, were traveling to Faisalabad when Gujjar group assailants attacked their car.

Brothers Shahzad Ahmad, 38, Shahbaz Ahmad, 49, and Shahbaz’s son Ashir Ali, 13, were killed instantly, while two others were critically injured.

The injured were shifted to a rural health centre and later referred to Allied Hospital.

FDA: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) will collaborate with real estate developers to restore the master plan for Faisalabad’s organized development, said FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry.

Addressing the FCCI Standing Committee on Real Estate Developers, he stated that implementation of the master plan, developed in consultation with stakeholders, was delayed due to a Lahore High Court stay order. Efforts are underway to lift the order to resume development in line with the plan.

He also acknowledged concerns over heavy fines on private housing developers and pledged to review strategies to facilitate development.

He assured developers that he would discuss unjustified fines with the managing director of Wasa.

CASE: The Madina Town police in Faisalabad registered on Wednesday case against its two former station house officers (SHOs) Hammad Yousaf and Fahad Ali and 68 sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors on the charge of stealing away files of cases of four years from the police station.

Complainant sub-inspector Muhammad Shahid said in his FIR registered under sections 380 of the PPC and 155C of the Police Order that these officers took away files of the cases of the years from 2020 to 2023, they had investigated, to submit for hearing of cases in trial courts, through the prosecution branch.

They, however, instead of handing over all files to staff of branch disappeared the files.
