GUJRAT: The Punjab government launched on Thursday the delivery of 1,135 green tractors to farmers of Gujranwala and Gujrat divisions on Thursday.

The provincial government will give a Rs one million subsidy on every green tractor to the farmers.

Gujranwala Commissioner Naveed Haider Sheerazi, PML-N MPAs Umar Farooq Dar, Nawaz Chohan and others distributed the keys among the farmers.

Speaking to the farmers at the occasion, the commissioner said that around 523 tractors were being given to the farmers of Gujranwala, Sialkot and Narowal districts whereas some 613 green tractors were being given to the farmers of Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin and Wazirabad districts of Gujrat division.

Adding, he said that the Punjab government had allocated a huge package of Rs 300 billion for the farmers across the province as Kissan cards and solar panels for tube wells were the part of that package.

SAHIWAL: The local agriculture department has commenced the distribution of Green Tractors to 228 farmers who were selected through an online registration and lucky draw under the provincial government’s scheme.

Ch. Shahbaz Akhter, Director of Agriculture, informed Dawn that the department has begun awarding keys to the winning farmers.

OKARA: Keys of 339 subsidised tractors were given to farmers at the Jinnah hall where MPA Mian Muhammad Munir and deputy commisioner (DC) Muhammad Usman Javid were the chief guests.
