LAHORE: The Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Centre (PKLI) has terminated 11 employees of the institute following their involvement in financial corruption.

The action follows complaints from patients and their attendants against coordinators in various departments, accusing them of misusing their institutional authority for personal gain.

A spokesperson for the PKLI said here on Thursday that in response to these complaints, the PKLI formed an inquiry committee to investigate the allegations.

Based on the inquiry findings and substantial evidence, he said, 11 employees were found guilty of financial corruption whose services were terminated.

Furthermore, in the case of seven employees, evidence from the institutional inquiry has been submitted to the Anti-Corruption Establishment for legal proceedings.

The PKLI reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards and ensuring the trust of its patients and the public.

The administration remains steadfast in its zero-tolerance policy against unethical behavior and is dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services, he said.
