GUJRAT: A suspect wanted by Faisalabad police was detained at the Sialkot International Airport on his return from Saudi Arabia whereas a youth traveling to Greece was offloaded from a flight on Saturday.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) detained Muhammad Asad of Gujranwala on his arrival from Saudi Arabia as his name was found on the stop list.

The sources said Asad was handed over to Faisalabad police.

Hamza Arshad of Mandi Bahauddin who was going to Thailand via Dubai was offloaded from the flight after fake travel documents of Greece were found on him during the scrutiny. During the interrogation, Hamza revealed that he had a plan to go to Greece through another flight at the Dubai airport instead of traveling to Thailand.

Youth offloaded from flight for fake documents

The officials said Hamza’s father had arranged documents for Greece through agents, Muhammad Shabbir and Nazeer, by paying them Rs2.5m whereas he had got the Thailand visa through a travel agent of Jhelum.

The passenger was later handed over to FIA for further action.

Meanwhile, the FIA claimed to have arrested two human traffickers during a crackdown on illegal human trafficking in the region.

The arrested traffickers include Kashif alias Chand Masih of Wazirabad and Imran Asif of Kharian, Gujrat, who had been booked in the cases of human trafficking lodged against them.

Kashif had received Rs1.6m from a complainant to send his son to Canada whereas Imran had received Rs1.5m from a complainant to send him to Romania. Both of them did not fulfil their commitments.
