DSPs, SHOs, Moharrars and assistant commissioners, Khar and Nawagai subdivisions, were also in attendance.

It was the first ever specialised session for the police officials to deal with the criminal cases effectively.

DC Ali and DPO Rafique told the participants on how to register cases against the accused and the kinds of criminal cases and their relevant laws.

They said the session was meant to strengthen the law enforcers’ capabilities and provide speedy justice to the victims as many police officials dealing with the criminal cases were not aware about the nature of the cases as per the law.

The district prosecutor and other legal experts told the police officials about various civil and criminal cases such as murder, attempted murder, rape, kidnapping, fraud, theft, robbery and domestic violence and their punishments as per the Pakistan Penal Code.

The participants were also informed about the rights of prisoners, right of self-defence and procedure of exhumation.
