DERA MURAD JAMALI: Two women were killed and 20 others, including eight children, were injured when an overloaded vehicle carrying a wedding party overturned in the Sanni area of Kachhi district on Saturday.

The joyful movement of the wedding party turned into tragedy when the vehicle met with an accident while traveling between Dhadar and Sanni.

The accident occurred after the vehicle’s tyre burst while it was en route to Sanni from Goth Basti Khan, near Dhadar.

“Two women were killed on the spot after receiving serious head injuries, and 20 other members of the wedding party were injured,” police officials said. Police rushed to the site soon after receiving information, shifting the bodies and the injured to the district hospital in Dhadar.

Most of the injured were moved to a trauma centre in Quetta and the Combined Military Hospital due to the severity of their injuries.

The women who were killed in the accident were identified as Sadia Bibi and Shah Babi.
