KARACHI: A young man was killed as a result of celebratory firing during a wedding ceremony in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, police said on Sunday.
They identified the victim as 20-year-old Abid Zaman and said that the incident took place in Block-9 late on Saturday night.
Area SHO Pir Shabbir Haider said that one of the guests resorted to firing in jubilation and a bullet hit his friend, Abid. The suspect, along with his other friends, took the wounded to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he died during treatment.
He said that the suspect managed to escape.
