Filthy enclave

THE state of cleanliness and maintenance in the Diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad is deteriorating fast. Despite being one of the most prestigious and secure zones in the federal capital, the enclave suffers from overflowing trash bins, unkempt bushes, and poorly maintained green belts and footpaths.

These neglected areas create an unpleasant environment, and tarnish the image of the capital city, which is frequented by diplomats and foreign dignitaries. The trash bins, often seen brimming with garbage, emit foul odour and attract stray animals, creating an unhealthy environment.

The green belts and bushes, once a symbol of Islamabad’s beauty, now look overgrown and unkempt due to lack of regular trimming and care. Similarly, the footpaths are cracked and uneven, making it difficult for pedestrians to walk safely. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) should take immediate action to address these issues.

Regular garbage collection, proper landscaping, and the repair of footpaths are essential to restore the enclave’s cleanliness and charm. Such measures will not only enhance the aesthetics of the area, but will also uphold the reputation of Islamabad as a well-maintained city.
