BAJAUR: Scores of trees were burnt after a fire erupted in the Kitkoot Mountains in Mamund tehsil here on Monday, according to local residents.

While the cause of the fire was not specified, they reported that many years-old trees were destroyed in the incident. A group of nearby villagers immediately rushed to the site and attempted to control the blaze.

However, their efforts were unsuccessful due to a lack of necessary equipment and firefighting tools, said Ahmad Khan, a resident of the area.

The fire was eventually brought under control by a team from the Rescue 1122 fire brigade.
