RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force detained six Nigerian nationals allegedly involved in supplying of drug in educational institutions and recovered 3.2 kilograms of ice and 135 grams of cocaine.
A press release issued by the ANF said that following intelligence, the ANF conducted an operation against drug smugglers in Islamabad and arrested a Nigerian national.
During interrogation, the accused also revealed the involvement of his other foreign associates that led to the arrest of five other Nigerian nationals from a hotel in sector G-13.
The ANF conducted a swoop at suspects’ flat in G-13 and during the search of the flat, 135 grams of cocaine and 3.2 kilograms of ice were also seized.
The accused used to supply drugs to students in hostels and educational institutions, the ANF said.
A large number of foreign nationals arrested for drug smuggling in Pakistan this year are from African countries.
Drug traffickers continue to adopt new and dangerous methods to smuggle illegal drugs, posing a serious threat to society.
ANF operations against drug trafficking in educational institutions will continue, said the spokesperson.
A case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act and further investigation has been initiated.
