PDWP approves 18 uplift schemes worth Rs4.9bn

KARACHI: The provincial development working party (PDWP) has approved 18 schemes worth Rs 4.9 billion.

One of the schemes pertains to the construction of a sports complex at Bakhtiari Youth Centre in Karachi’s district central with an estimated cost of Rs599.7 million, said a press release issued here on Monday.

It said five schemes were approved in the irrigation, 10 in local government and three in the works and services departments.

It said that the PDWP meeting, presided over by Planning & Development Board chairman Najam Shah, approved the schemes including construction of various roads in taluka Tando Bago, Badin, Mithi, Sanghar; construction of Civic Centre in Rohri; construction of a new bridge at Phulleli Canal in Hyderabad.
