TOBA TEK SINGH: A grand operation was launched on Monday against illegal housing schemes by the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA).

A press release said an FDA team conducted an inspection on Samundri and Jhang roads and razed illegally built structures of 14 housing schemes while their offices were also sealed.

The FDA administration has informed the general public to beware of illegal housing schemes before purchasing a plot.

RAPE: A man allegedly raped a woman after luring her to to a house for employment in Gojra on Monday.

The complainant of Chak 301-JB informed Gojra Saddar police that the suspect of Millat Town locality of Gojra took her to a house in Chak 357-JB and raped her on gunpoint.

Police are conducting raids to arrest the suspect.

INJURED: Two persons shot and injured Asad of Jamilabad and Nadeem of Gulshan Iqbal localities on Gulshan Iqbal-Risalay Wala Road at Faisalabad over an old enmity.

Both had been shifted to DHQ hospital.

Police are investigating.

KILLED: A robbery-murder suspect was allegedly killed during an “encounter” with Millat Town police on Monday.

Police spokesperson claimed that the suspect, Rehan, was arrested in connection with a murder and robbery case.

He was being taken to a place for recovery of booty when his six unidentified accomplices, riding three motorcycles, opened fire on the police van near Bagh Wali Puli.

The attackers snatched the suspect from police and took positions in a field, from where they continued firing on the policemen.

The spokesperson said that more police force was called on the spot and after an exchange of fire between two sides, police found the suspect lying injured in the field.

He later succumbed to his bullet injuries.

Police claimed that he was hit by bullets fired by his own accomplices, who fled away.

As per the police, Rehan was allegedly involved in dozens of robberies, while on Sept 1 he had shot dead a shopkeeper, Ashfaq, for offering resistance on Diyal Garh Link Road.

SISTERS KIDNAPPED: Two minor sisters have allegedly been kidnapped from fields near Chak 357-JB at Gojra on Monday.

Complainant Ijaz Ahmad informed Gojra Saddar police that his two nieces, Zainab Bibi (16) and Arooj Fatima (10), daughters of Shahbaz, went to the fields outside the village to collect firewood, but did not return home.

He apprehended that the girls might have been kidnapped.

Police were investigating.

GIRLS RECOVERED: Gojra city police claimed to have recovered two minor girls who had disappeared from Asghar Colony at Gojra on Saturday.

As per police, neighbours Kiran Fatima (12), daughter of Tariq Javed and Horia Bibi (11), daughter of Shoukat Ali, had gone out of their houses and disappeared.

Their fathers, in their complaint to the Gojra city police, apprehended that someone had abducted their daughters.

During investigation, Gojra city police came to know that some suspects had abducted the girls and took them to Data Darbar in Lahore.

A police team went to Lahore and found both girls at Data Darbar, while their abductors allegedly fled away.

Police are conducting raids to arrest them.
