ISLAMABAD: Police have arrested three suspects allegedly involved in the murder of a man in the capital’s rural area.
According to a police public relations officer, the arrests were made by the Humak police station and Homicide Investigation Unit (HIU) teams.
On December 11, the three suspects murdered Mohammad Anwar with an axe during a fight in Humak and later escaped from the scene.
Humak police registered a case against the three persons nominated by the nephew of the deceased on December 12. Besides, an investigation team comprising officials of the Humak police station and Homicide Investigation Unit was also formed.
The teams used technical and scientific methods and succeeded to trace and arrest the suspects.
DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza directed all senior officials for an effective crackdown against the accused involved in criminal activities and to ensure safety of lives and property of the citizens.
He said Islamabad police adopted a zero-tolerance policy against violence and those involved in it will be brought to justice.
