SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Wazir tribesmen and Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement activists organised a rally in Wana here on Friday to demand immediate release of former MNA Ali Wazir.

The participants drawn from all walks of life, including tribal elders, political leaders and Ulema, chanted slogans, demanding release of the former lawmaker.

They also carried placards and banners calling for an end to Ali Wazir’s “illegal imprisonment”.

The speakers, including Alamgir Wazir, Jamiat-i-Ulema Islam-Fazl’s district president Maulana Abdullah, PTM leaders Hanif Pashteen and Samad Lala, demanded withdrawal of all the cases registered against Ali Wazir. They termed his imprisonment political victimisation.
