A police official confirmed the incident, saying that miscreants had planted an explosive device along the house of police wireless operator, constable Qasim Khan.

He said that the bomb went off with a big bang, extensively damaging a room and another one partially. “The militants also took away a repeater gun and an ATM card from the house of the policeman,” he said.

The official said that a party of the Saddar police station reached the rural locality and launched a search for the miscreants.
