Woman dies in accident

KARACHI: A recklessly driven Vigo pickup truck knocked down to death a passer-by near Baloch Colony on Friday, police said.

They said that the woman, Farzana Riaz, 45, was crossing the road when the vehicle coming from Baloch Colony Expressway towards Qayyumabad hit her.

She suffered critical injuries and was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors pronounced her dead.

Baloch Colony police officer Yasir Nawaz said that the driver, identified as Abdul Rehman, was taken into custody and the vehicle impounded.
