11th edition of FLF kicks off

TOBA TEK SINGH: The 11th edition of the Faisalabad Literary Festival (FLF) started at the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan auditorium of the arts council in Faisalabad on Friday.

Opening the litfest, Commissioner Silwat Saeed described the people associated with knowledge, literature and fine arts as valuable assets of society as they guided the masses in the right direction and promoted positive attitudes through their work.

Deputy Commissioner retired Capt Nadeem Nasir, members of the organising committee, Asghar Nadeem Syed, Sara Hayat, Toshiba Sarwar, Punjab Council of Arts Director Muhammad Owais Abid were also present on the occasion.

The opening session of the festival was presided over by Asghar Nadeem Syed, while intellectuals spoke on various topics.

Asghar Nadeem Syed and Toshiba Sarwar said the continuous holding of the FLF was an acknowledgment of the fact that Faisalabad was prominent in the literary scenes of the metropolitans. They said the participation of the audience made the festival more unique every year as Lyallpur had a rich literary history.
