GUJRAT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed to have arrested six human traffickers, with two of them involved in the recent Greece boat tragedy.

Moreover, the number of cases lodged with the Gujranwala and Gujrat FIA circles (regarding the Greece capsize) have now risen to nine after two more cases registered by the Gujranwala circle. Inquiries in seven other cases are also underway.

The Friday’s arrests were made in Sialkot and Gujranwala — Nadeem Ali of Pasrur (Sialkot) and Anas Iqbal of Kamoke (Gujranwala) — as cases against them have already been lodged with the Gujranwala circle.

Similarly, human traffickers Ijaz Ahmed and Sajjad Ahmed, both residents of Phalia tehsil of Mandi Bahauddin, have been arrested in a case number 406/24 lodged with the Gujrat circle.

The suspects had received a sum of Rs 2 million from a complainant to send his son to Greece but he was rather flown to Malaysia.

Suspects Muhmmad Ansar and Jamal Din of Mandi Bahauddin have also been arrested in connection with cases of human trafficking.
