MUZAFFARGARH: Two students were killed on Saturday when a speeding trailer crushed them near Vesandiwali.

The incident occurred as the students, identified as Mujahid and Hasnain, were riding a motorcycle on their way to school.

The deceased, hailing from Mochi Wali near Vesandiwali, were reportedly travelling when the trailer hit them. The heirs of the students have refused to take legal action against the driver.

DEATH SENTENCE: Kot Addu Additional and District Sessions Judge Malik Amanullah has sentenced Muhammad Amir to death twice for the murder of journalist Abdullah Nizami and his wife in an honour-related killing.

The court’s verdict, announced in a case under section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code, was based on strong evidence, solid testimonies and successful prosecution.

The incident occurred on Sept 24, 2022, near Head Muhammedwala in the jurisdiction of Sananwan police station. Nizami, journalist from Kot Sultan, Layyah, and his wife were gunned down for honour. Following the murders, the police arrested Amir.
