Colleges exhibition of science projects

GUJRAT: The Higher Education Department organised a regional science exhibition in Gujranwala on Saturday, showcasing projects from 63 boys’ colleges and 30 women’s colleges across the Gujranwala division.

Punjab Minister for Local Bodies Mian Zeeshan Rafique and Gujranwala Commissioner Naveed Haider Sheerazi were the chief guests. Director of Colleges Prof Amanullah Rathore and Deputy Director Shoaib Ashiq Butt briefed participants about the group-based science projects displayed at the event.

Colleges from Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin and Narowal districts achieved top positions. Prizes were distributed among winners by the minister.

Minister Zeeshan said the (PML-N was committed to holding local government elections during its tenure. He said the cabinet had forwarded the draft local government law to the Punjab Assembly for approval.

He said solid waste management had been outsourced across the Gujranwala division.

Private companies have been tasked with upgrading their machinery within three months, monitored through a new digital system.

The minister introduced the “Suthra Punjab” (Clean Punjab) app, which enables citizens to report complaints about waste collection by calling 1190. He urged citizens to cooperate in keeping their cities clean.
