BAHAWALNAGAR: A woman, along with her two sons, was arrested for strangling her husband to death and burying his body in the house over a petty issue at Chak 270/HR on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Zahid Rasool told Dawn that 57-year-old Naseem Bibi of Chak 270/HR strangled her husband, 65-year-old Muhammad Iqbal, to death with abetment of her sons, Bilal and Rizwan, and buried his body in the house about a month ago. He said that after the murder, the family gave the impression that Iqbal had a quarrel with them and left the house.
However, they did not file any police complaint regarding his disappearance. On Friday, Iqbal’s mother contacted police and lodged a complaint. During the police interrogation, Naseem and her sons confessed to committing the crime. On the identification of the family, the police recovered the victim’s body from the courtyard.
During the investigation, the woman told the police that she had taken the extreme step after getting fed up with her husband who used to scold her over trivial things and forbade her from going out of the house.
