Cash, valuables worth Rs500,000 stolen from policeman’s house

TAXILA: A policeman house was looted in Losar Sharfoo area in the limits of Wah Saddar police station on Sunday.

Head constable Sohail reported to police that he and his family were out to attend a function when bugglars broke into his house and stole cash and other valuables worth Rs500,000.

Meanwhile two armed robbers CCTV camera, data recorders besides looting the security guard of the shop at gunpoint in a highly guarded housing societyin the limits of Taxila police station.

Javaid Ahmed reported to Police that he was present at his shop when two persons posing as customers entered his shop as customers and made him as well security guard hostage at gunpoint.

Later, they searchedthe shop and fled with looted items besides CCTV cameras and data recorders and deprived the securityguard of valuables. Respective police have registered two separatecases and launched a search for the culprits.

Anti-drug campaign

The police carried out a rigorous crackdown on drugs mafia across the Attock districton Sunday.

According to details, intelligence-based targeted operations by the police have been intensified across the district leading to major seizures and multiple arrests. The police spokesman said that during the crackdown, Harzo Police arrested Ibraheem Khan and recovered 1.60kg hashish from his den located in Yasin Kalan, while Attock Khurd arrested Mohammad Riaz and recovered 1.60 kilogram of hashish while 1.50 kilogram hashish was recovered from Riaz Khan.

Rangoo Police foiled a bid to smuggle hashish from KP to Punjab and recovered 4kg hashish from Mohammad Sadeeq.

Pindigheb police recovered 1.20 kilogram hashish from Nisar Khan. Respective Police registered separate cases under section 9-C of control of narcotics substance act 1997 and launched further investigation.
