ISLAMABAD: Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) has released additional funds of Rs250 million for the repair and maintenance of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

Federal Secretary of Health Nadeem Mahbub on Sunday visited Pims and directed to ensure cleanliness, repair of the toilets and other repair work. He reviewed the repair and revamping plans for the main building of Pims Hospital, MCH and the Children’s Hospital.

He also said the ministry will further provide an additional Rs150 million for the maintenance of the hospital. During the health secretary visit, CDA engineers and Pims administration briefed him about the ongoing work.

On this occasion federal secretary for health Nadeem Mahbub issued instructions to ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of washrooms. He also emphasised on fixing roof leakages on an emergency basis and repair of broken stretchers to facilitate patients.

The secretary also instructed to complete the hospital’s renovation work promptly and efficiently besides directing that the facilities provided to patients in the hospital should be improved.
