SARGODHA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi told a press conference on Saturday the PTI government in KP was responsible for the deteriorating situation in Kurram. He said that despite Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s promises, the roads in the area remained closed. He alleged that the KP apex committee meeting was merely a face-saving measure and questioned if its decisions would be implemented.

Mr Kundi said that 200 people had been martyred in Kurram district, where the situation remains dire, with residents unable to step out at night. He accused the KP government of showing apathy by failing to offer Fateha for the martyrs in the provincial assembly.

He said President Asif Ali Zardari endured 11 years in jail without concessions, contrasting it with Imran Khan’s alleged attempts to seek a deal after a year in prison. About Bushra Bibi, he claimed she misled youth in Islamabad and would now face repercussions in KP. He claimed the PTI suffered internal divisions, which were deepening. Mr Kundi was in Sargodha to attend a wedding ceremony.

FORGERY: The anti-corruption special judge sentenced Kashif Raza Kashi, a stamp vendor, and Rab Nawaz to nine years in prison with a fine of Rs300,000.

They were convicted of forging stamps and selling a house through fraudulent means, depriving the plaintiff of his property.

KILLED: Two people were killed and two others seriously injured in separate incidents.

Qadir Bakhsh was killed, and two others, Imran Khan and Muhammad Ramzan of Chak 141 North, were injured in a shooting over a long-standing enmity. In another incident, Abdullah, a youth from Panjawala, died after being hit by a speeding dumper near Chak 138 on the Sargodha-Faisalabad Road. His body was handed over to his family after formalities.

CHRISTMAS: A Christmas ceremony was held at the UP Church in the Noori Gate area, which was attended by Deputy Commissioner retired Captain Muhammad Waseem and DPO Dr Asad Ijaz Malhi. They extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community and cut a cake with them. The DC emphasised peace, interfaith harmony, and equal rights for minorities, highlighting the Christian community’s contributions to education and health sectors.

HOSPITALISED: Shakeel Hussain and his five children, residents of Shamsabad in Sillanwali, became ill after consuming homemade dal curry. The family was rushed to the Sillanwali THQ Hospital after experiencing severe vomiting.

INJURED: Two workers, Imran Masih and Ilyas of Chak 96, were injured when a section of a wall collapsed during construction near Khawaja Wala Pul Qainchi Mor. Rescuers shifted them to DHQ Teaching Hospital for treatment.
