LAHORE: Naib emir of Jamaat-i-Islami Liaquat Baloch says that the trial of civilians under the Army Act is a failure of the civil government.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that instability increases if the people’s vote is not respected, as the government forcibly engineered a two-thirds majority in the house.

He said that an agreement on the demands of the Ittehad-i-Tanzeemat-i-Madaris would be a good decision.

Referring to the government circles’ claims that international sanctions were being imposed on the country because of certain Madaris, he said the corruption of the rulers, and not the functioning of the Madaris, was the reason behind these sanctions.

Offering his condolences on the martyrdom of the jawans of the armed forces in South Waziristan, he said that it is a shock to the entire nation.
