Hospital’s security guard ‘rapes’ woman

RAWALPINDI: A woman, who was attending her ailing teenage daughter in the children ward of Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), was allegedly raped by a security guard in the toilet of the hospital; police said adding that the accused was arrested immediately after the incident was reported.

The rape victim, 30, a resident of Attock lodged an FIR with the Waris Khan police saying that she had been attending her nine-year-old ailing daughter in the children ward of the hospital for the last four days.

She said on Sunday night when she went to the washroom where a security guard followed her and entered the washroom and forcibly raped her. Later she informed the hospital staff. She claimed in the FIR that due to this incident, she tried to commit suicide by taking ‘hand sanitiser’.

A police spokesman said the accused was arrested immediately after the incident was reported to the police.

He said that the medical examination of the rape victim was carried out as the case was registered with the police.
