SARGODHA: Two armed motorcyclists allegedly killed two persons and injured a woman due to an old enmity near Bhalwal Chak 2-NB late on Sunday.
The deceased and injured, who were travelling in a car, were identified as Muhammad Ashraf and his son Yasin, who died on the spot, while his wife, Noreen Bibi, was seriously injured and shifted to Bhalwal THQ Hospital.
Police are investigating.
Also, a young motorcyclist died after falling on the road and being crushed under a speeding truck in the city.
According to sources, 18-year-old Adeel Shakeel from Mohammadi Colony fell during a collision between motorcycles on Phata Mandi Road in Sargodha city.
The body was shifted to DHQ Teaching Hospital. Police are investigating.
EXHIBITION: A scientific model exhibition was organized at the Government Associate College for Women, Chandni Chowk, under the ‘Parha Lakha Punjab Programme’ to encourage talented female students.
Female students from different government colleges across four districts displayed their art and presented scientific models at the exhibition.
Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan and ADCR Fahad Mahmood inspected the stalls of scientific models set up by the female students and appreciated their creative abilities. They congratulated them.
Commissioner Awan also presented trophies and certificates of appreciation to the three best scientific model presenters.
On the occasion, he said that creative competitions of scientific models are very important for the development of talents. The aim of the scientific models competition is to stimulate the creative abilities of the students and to promote science and technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, as well as to create interest in the aforementioned subjects and topics.
He said the exhibition encouraged female students to participate in co-curricular activities and highlight their creative talents through innovative ideas and trends in various fields.
A large number of female students and female teachers, including Deputy Director Colleges Abul Hassan Naqvi and Principal Prof Safiana, were present.
