Three kids injured in roof collapse

KASUR: Three children of a family suffered injuries as the dilapidated roof of a room they were sleeping in collapsed due to rain, on Monday, at Pial Kalan village in the limits of Mandi Usmanwala police station.

According to Rescue 1122, Sadaf (12), Maryam (14) and Farooq (10) were asleep in a room having dilapidated roof which caved in amid rain.

Locals and Rescue 1122 officials, called to the scene, rescued the injured from the debris and shifted them to the district headquarters hospital.

Police are looking into the matter.

WOMAN DIES: A woman died after being run over by a tractor-trolley, while her husband was injured on Raiwind Road near Raja Jang village.

As per the police, Pervaiz Masih, along with his wife, Razia Bibi, was returning home after Christmas shopping on his bike.

When they reached near Raja Jang, their motorcycle slipped while overtaking a tractor-trolley.

As a result, the husband and the wife were run over by the tractor-trolley and critically injured.

Razia Bibi later succumbed to her injuries while being shifted to hospital, while Pervaiz was admitted to the DHQ hospital.

The police handed over the body to the bereaved family without an autopsy, as the family refused to allow the procedure.

The tractor driver had fled the scene immediately after the accident.
