TOBA TEK SINGH: A murder case was registered on Tuesday against a man and his son for concealing the death of their four children, who died over four consecutive days at the Sahiwal Teaching Hospital.
The children were shifted to the hospital along with six other family members who fell ill after consuming poisonous tea.
The accused later buried the children secretly in Tandlianwala Chak 554-GB without informing the Mamukanjan police.
Mamukanjan Police Station House Officer Ilyas Baig stated in the FIR, registered under sections 302, 201, 337, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, that Ameer Ali and his son Abdul Ghani transported the bodies back to their village over four days and buried them without informing the police.
No arrests have been made so far.
CAR FIRE: A moving car caught fire and was completely gutted on the Kamalia-Chichawatni Road near the Chadhar Police Post in Kamalia on Tuesday.
Rescue 1122 reported that a family from Pirmahal was traveling when a short circuit caused a fire to break out in the car, spreading rapidly.
All passengers jumped out and remained safe.
Firefighters later extinguished the fire.
DROWNING: A young boy drowned in a watercourse in Gojra Chak 281-JB, Dawakhri, on Tuesday.
Reports said Jameel Masih was an epilepsy patient. He suffered a sudden seizure while walking along the water channel, causing him to fall in and drown instantly.
POULTRY THEFT: Thieves stole poultry birds worth over Rs1.2 million from a poultry farm in Gojra Chak 162-GB on Monday night.
Poultry farm owner Mudassar Hussain informed the Gojra Saddar police that the thieves arrived in a mini truck and loaded over 1,000 birds.
BIKER IN TOWN: German cyclist Mercen Gregor, currently on a world tour on his bike, arrived in Faisalabad on Tuesday.
He was welcomed at the Police Line Community Engagement Centre by CPO Kamran Adil, SSP Investigation Abdul Wahab and ASP of Gulberg Rajinder.
Gregor described Pakistan as a peaceful and hospitable country.
He entered Pakistan via Taftan and Quetta and plans to travel to India through the Wagah border.
DEATH SENTENCE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Faisalabad Azhar Iqbal Ranjha handed down a death sentence and imposed a fine of Rs1 million on a murder case convict on Tuesday.
The prosecution stated that Balochni police arrested the convict, Hashmat Ali of Chak 91-RB, who shot dead Ghufran Mahmood from the same village in 2008 over a minor dispute.
ARTS COUNCIL: The deputy director of the Arts Council of Faisalabad issued a show-cause notice on Tuesday to the management of Minerva Gold Theatre and actress Nainan Jatti for violating drama regulations.
The notice stated that during the censor procedure and rehearsal for a drama, Nainan Jatti was not present. However, she later performed in the stage drama, which violated Punjab government SOPs.
The management has been warned of strict action if a satisfactory reply is not submitted.
