29 SZMCH teachers awarded ICMT

RAHIM YAR KHAN: The Shaikh Zayed Medical College Hospital (SZMCH) on Tuesday awarded the International Certification in Medical Teaching (ICMT/CHPE) to its 29 faculty members.

This certification programme was organised in collaboration with Shifa Tameer-i-Millat University (STMU) and the Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA), UK.

Addressing the certification ceremony, SZMCH Principal Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem Laghari emphasised the importance of integrating modern educational practices, such as mentoring, critical thinking, and research, into the medical training of local professionals.

He said these elements are vital for transforming conventional teaching methods into a more comprehensive and globally competitive approach.

The principal also thanked the STMU and the international faculty of SEDA for their contributions to the programme.

He also highlighted the programme’s significance in enhancing the academic and professional capabilities of SZMCH’s faculty, thereby fostering a better learning environment for healthcare professionals.
