Expansion of three main shrine projects reviewed

LAHORE: A meeting of the Punjab Auqaf Department was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Senior Member Board of Revenue Nabeel Javed.

The agenda focused on reviewing the expansion projects for shrines of Baba Bulleh Shah, Baba Fariduddin Ganj Shakar and Data Sahib.

Nabeel Javed informed the attendees that the installation of a hydraulic canopy at Data Darbar was progressing rapidly while five kanals of land had been transferred to the Auqaf department for the expansion of Bulleh Shah’s shrine.

Furthermore, he stated that Rs630 million had been allocated for renovation and expansion of Baba Fariduddin Ganj Shakar’s shrine.

He directed auqaf officials to present a 3D design of the shrine in the coming week, highlighting the colour combination of the flooring stone and wall tiles.

Javed emphasised that the renovation and expansion of Data Darbar were being carried out according to international standards to ensure that all facilities for visitors were top-notch. He also stressed considering the specific needs of female visitors in all shrine projects.

The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Auqaf Nabeela Javed, Deputy Secretary Finance Muhammad Usman Naeem, Project Director Ghulam Abbas, and MD Infrastructure Development Auqaf Nauman Ahmed.
