OKARA: The court of Diplapur additional session judge on Thursday handed down nine-year jail term, along with Rs80,000 fine, to a drug peddler.

The Hujra Shah Muqeem police in March, 2024, had arrested Raazid Raza with 1,985 gram charas from Jethpur bridge near Hujra Shah Muqeem.

The police had registered a case under section 9-(1) 3C of the Narcotics Substance Control Act 1997 against Raza.

After completion of investigations, the case challan was sent to the court of Dipalpur ASJ for trial proceedings.

The court on convulsion of the case proceedings announced the verdict and the convict was arrested and sent to Okara district jail.
