TOBA TEK SINGH: A farm worker, along with an accomplice, allegedly murdered his employer’s wife in Chak 44-JB Pacca Dalla, Faisalabad, on Friday.

According to a first information report registered at Sahianwala police under sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, Muhammad Nazir, the complainant, accused Muhammad Anwar of Sargodha of carrying out the murder.

Anwar, suspecting Zohra Bibi of being involved in his daughter’s elopement, allegedly fired multiple shots and killed her on the spot. Police are conducting raids to arrest the suspect and his accomplice.

DIES BY SUICIDE: A young man reportedly took his own life in Chak 58-GB, Jaranwala, Faisalabad, on Friday.

HELD: Khurrianwala police on Friday arrested two proclaimed offenders wanted in a 2013 triple murder case.

ROBBERY: Armed robbers looted Rs65 million from an animal trader in Jahanian, Khanewal, on Friday evening.

Rana Muhammad Nauman was returning to his village, Chak 135/10R, after withdrawing the cash from a bank when the robbers intercepted him near the bypass road and snatched the money.

CRIME RATE: Faisalabad CPO Kamran Adil reported a decrease in crime rates compared to the previous year.

In 2024, 28 dacoity-cum-murders were reported, down from 34 in 2023. Kidnapping-for-ransom cases dropped from 9 to 6, while robberies decreased from 264 to 242. Motorcycle snatchings also reduced to 2,177 from 2,318.

Arrests of proclaimed offenders increased to 7,523 from 5,945, and police encounters rose to 79 from 57.
