Ahmed was a hardworking boy studying in a college. He was fond of singing and sand melodiously in college programmes and prestigious events. His songs were appreciated by everyone due to his beautiful voice.

Ahmed wanted to become a singer, but, unfortunately, his father was against Ahmed’s singing and always tried to deter him.

“Singing is not a noble profession,” he said. “You cannot earn a decent living. My dear child, you should study hard and become an educated person, I will help you.”

Ahmed listened to his father, but it saddened him that his father was not supporting his choice, and wanted him to become something he didn’t want.

Despite discouragement from his family, Ahmed continued to pursue his passion. Whenever there was a talent show at his college, he would captivate the audience with his charismatic voice.

Soon the college’s farewell programme was approaching, and everyone was busy practicing their parts, some for poetry, others for acting or humorous skits, and Ahmed for his song. One evening, as Ahmed was singing in his room, his father overheard him. It was too much for him to tolerate, and in a fit of rage, he stormed into Ahmed’s room.

“Can’t you understand? I told you to stop singing and focus on your career! Yet here you are, still practicing singing!”

As he shouted, he snatched the notebook with song lyrics from Ahmed’s hands and tore it into pieces. Ahmed remained silent, his eyes brimming with tears.

Disheartened, Ahmed decided not to participate in the college farewell programme. His absence was deeply felt, but no one understood the emotional storm he was going through.

After some time, while browsing his phone, Ahmed saw an advertisement for a song competition. The first prize for the winner was 2.5 lac rupees. Ahmed was eager to participate in the competition to win the prize. However, the competition was to be held in another city, where Ahmed’s uncle lived.

Ahmed, feeling broken, called his uncle and poured his heart out, begging for help. His uncle, who had always loved and encouraged him to pursue his dreams, listened patiently. Understanding Ahmed’s plight, he called Ahmed’s father and requested him to let Ahmed stay with him for a few days.

The next day, Ahmed arrived at his uncle’s place. His spirits lifted as his uncle welcomed him warmly. Ahmed was enthusiastic and shared his excitement about performing. His uncle smiled, seeing the spark of determination in Ahmed’s eyes.

On the day of the competition, Ahmed was filled with excitement and nervous energy. The event was grander than anything he had ever imagined, featuring several distinguished singers as judges. The show started and every participant delivered stellar performances, singing captivating songs. Ahmed knew this was his moment to shine, a chance to prove himself.

When the host called Ahmed, he confidently took the stage. Despite coming from a small town and standing among many talented emerging singers of the country in front of a massive audience, he delivered a performance that left both the judges and audience in awe.

When the results were announced, and his name was called as the first-prize winner, it felt surreal. It was an unbelievable accomplishment, a moment of triumph that validated his passion and hard work.

The news of a boy from a small town with a remarkable voice spread nationwide through social media, earning Ahmed invitations for interviews on various news channels. Just a week later, when Ahmed returned to his hometown, he felt nervous about facing his father.

To his surprise, as he entered his home, his parents greeted him warmly. His father, who had been so critical before, hugged him and said, “I am so proud of you.”

His father appreciated Ahmed’s talent and acknowledged his misjudgement. He encouraged Ahmed to continue pursuing his passion, vowing to support him in his future endeavours. It was a moment of reconciliation and a turning point in Ahmed’s life.
