KARACHI: A young labourer was shot at and wounded by robbers when he resisted them off Superhighway on Friday morning, police said.

Site Superhighway Industrial Area SHO Khalid Abbasi said that 24-year-old Mehtab, a labourer, left his house in Janjal Goth for work at New Subzi Mandi, but two armed robbers attem­pted to loot him on the way. And as he put up resistance, the muggers opened fire on him and fled without any loot.

Mehtab suffered a bullet wound on his shoulder. He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where his condition was stated to be out of danger.
