KARACHI: A young man was gunned down in Lines Area in the small hours of Saturday morning, police said.
Brigade SHO Mohammed Mithal Bhurghari identified the victim as Ravi Jagadeesh, 32, and said she was shot and killed by unknown assailants at Street No 5 in Jutt Lane.
The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination.
The area SHO said that the victim sustained a single bullet wound in the chest and died on the spot.
He said that the incident appeared to be motivated by some personal enmity. However, further investigations were underway, he added.
Ketamine seized
The Sindh Narcotics Control Department has claimed to have recovered 10.3 kilograms of ketamine and arrested two suspects in a second operation at Korangi Crossing.
Narcotics Control officials Lakhmi Chand and Sohail Abbas told a press conference that the drug was smuggled into Karachi from Quetta.
They said that the current price of one kilo of ketamine in the international market is estimated at Rs1 million.
They identified the held suspects as Zahid Iqbal and Zulfiqar and said they belonged to an inter-provincial gang of drug smugglers.
