LAHORE: Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Cup along with the Metropolitan Fillies Trial Cup are the prominent events in a six-race card drawn for the Lahore Winter Meeting here at the Racecourse on Sunday.

Introduced for the first time, the Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Cup will feature nine colts and fillies over 1,300 metres in connection with the observance of the 17th death anniversary of the former prime minister.

On form and current performance, three runners seem real contenders, they are Princess Rukhtas, Public Star and Love Love.

The Metropolitan Fillies Trial Cup, the supporting event, to be contested over 1,400 metres three of the six runners look to be on chance. They include Golden Market, Qaswa Princess and Quality Street.

This will be the last meeting of 2024, the year which in spite of the serious economic crunch, saw horse-breeding and racing edging towards qualitative improvement in calibre.
