LAHORE: Sargodha police on Saturday recovered two teenaged girls who were abducted three months ago and arrested the main suspect.

Two girls, students of intermediate second year, went missing from their house in Sargodha three months ago. Police registered a kidnap case against unidentified persons on the complaint of their parents.

Sargodha District Police Officer (DPO) Asad Ejaz Malhi took notice of the incident and constituted 10 teams to recover the girls.

Talking to Dawn, Mr Malhi said the initial teams carried out the investigations on human intelligence basis and it was revealed that the girls had left their homes on their own.

He said that the teams continued to investigate the matter and later it transpired that the girls were trapped by an inter-district gang who was involved in luring the teenage girls to provide them jobs in some foreign countries.

He said the gang leader was arrested and the girls were recovered from Balochistan where they were being transported to international border to provide them job in Iran.

He said that the girls were sent to hospital for medical examination and they were waiting for the reports.

He said the main suspect was being interrogated and efforts were being made to arrest his other accomplices.
