DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two children were killed when roof of a room in their house collapsed in Mianwada area of Paharpur tehsil here on Sunday.

Both the children were buried alive under debris when the roof of their room collapsed.

Rescue 1122 teams, after receiving information about the incident, rushed to the site and retrieved bodies of children from debris.

The deceased were identified as 12-year-old Abdul Qadir and 10-year-old Ibrahim.

Meanwhile, three persons, including two women, got injured as a van was hit by a speeding passenger coach on Bannu Road near Yarik grid station on Sunday.

Rescue spokesperson Aizaz Mahmood said that a family was travelling in the van from Dera Ismail Khan to Paniala when it was hit by a speeding coach due to dense fog.

As a result, three people, identified as Mohammad Munir, his wife, 47-year-old Rukhsana Mehboob, and 30-year-old Bushra Bibi, sustained injuries.

The Rescue 1122 teams immediately reached the site and shifted the injured persons to the DHQ Hospital, Dera Ismail Khan.
