TOBA TEK SINGH: A man was killed and three others were critically injured when their opponents opened fire on them at Chak 58 GB, Jaranwala Tehsil, Faisalabad, on Monday.
According to Jaranwala Saddar police, the attack was the result of an old enmity. Members of the Rajput group, led by Babar Ali, targeted the Arian group, leading to the death of 40-year-old Tariq Ghafoor on the spot.
The three injured identified as Nawaz Manzoor (35), Shahzad Ahmad (38) and Dildar Aziz (55) were rushed to Jaranwala THQ Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, Dildar Aziz was later referred to Allied Hospital for further treatment.
A police team, led by the Jaranwala SSP, is conducting raids to arrest the suspects.
WOMAN KILLED BY FATHER-IN-LAW: A woman was murdered by her father-in-law over some domestic dispute in Basti Mahni Sial located on Makhdoompur-Deenpur Road at Khanewal on Monday.
Reports said Amin fired on Iqra Bibi who was critically injured and died instantly.
Also at Khanewal rescuers rescued two labourers from inside a 30-foot deep well in farmland outside Dolatpur locality near Kacha Khu.
Rescue 1122 said both labourers identified as Tariq and Shahzad were bringing out bricks from the well when suddenly a heap of earth collapsed on them. Both, who were unconscious, were shifted to DHQ hospital.
FIA: The FIA Faisalabad zone in an intelligence-based operation against the elements involved in human trafficking arrested on Monday a notorious land route agent Ashfaq Ahmad.
A spokesperson for FIA said the suspect was involved in the Libyan boat capsize who had sent citizens from Libya to Europe illegally by the sea.
He said he was arrested from Chiniot.
During the raid, 17 passports, several mobile phones and cheque books were recovered from them.
He said the suspect is a member of an international gang involved in human trafficking who extorted millions of rupees from the people for sending them to Europe through visit visas of Baku and Dubai.
