TAXILA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Attock circle in a raid arrested an official of the revenue department Pindigheab for allegedly taking a bribe from an applicant.
According to sources, Amir Sohail, a resident of Dhoke Lahim, informed ACE Punjab’s Attock district office that he approached a revenue official (patwari) for issuance of mutation certificate for his grandfather’s 51 kanal of land for inheritance to his father Shakeel Ahmed but he demanded illegal gratification of Rs100,000.
The official sources said that district circle officer ACE Jehanzaib Khan along with judicial magistrate Fahad Khan conducted a successful raid at the officer of the revenue official and arrested the patwari red-handed and recovered the amount from him.
The sources said that a case had been registered against the official under section 5/2/47 Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA) at anti-corruption police station Attock.
