SUKKUR: A man allegedly shot dead his daughter and escaped in the Mazar Khan Bijarani village falling within the limits of the Tangwani police station of Kandhkot-Kashmore district on Tuesday.

According to the police, the suspect, Sabir Mahar, shot dead his daughter, Bakhtawar Khatoon, in the name of honour. He then managed to flee the village, they added.

The body was shifted to the Khandkot Civil Hospital for a postmortem examination before it was handed over to the heirs.

The police said that an investigation into the matter was under way.
