Two buried alive

OKARA: Two young labourers were buried alive while digging a well in the suburb of village Batak near Basirpur on Tuesday.

The workers were recovering bricks while digging the well. Meanwhile, the walls of nearly 20 feet deep well collapsed and both workers were buried under a heap of earth. The village men and Rescue 1122 teams started a recovery operation. After hours long hectic efforts, the bodies of both workers were dug out.

They were identified as Fayyaz (22), of Pind Samad, and Fazal Abbas (18), of Bharpoora.
