SARGODHA: A fog-related road accident claimed two lives and left four injured on the Sargodha-Khushab Road near village Dharema, 20km from here, on Wednesday.

The collision occurred between a high-speed truck traveling from Khushab to Sargodha and a sugarcane-laden tractor trolley heading towards Shahpur.

Muhammad Riaz of Muhammad Bin Qasim Colony, Jauharabad, and another person died. Four others — Abdullah Khan of Chak 11, Muhammad Kashif of Chak 8, Mubarak and Liaqat Ali of Chak 10 — were seriously injured.

Rescue teams struggled to extract the victims from the mangled truck and transported them to DHQ Teaching Hospital, Sargodha.

Jhal Chakian police are investigating the incident.
