SUKKUR: A man burnt to death when his house caught fire caused by explosion of an LPG cylinder in Garhi Bhit village near Khanpur Mahar town, Ghotki district, on Tuesday evening.

Ali Bahar Pittafi was fast asleep in a room and could not save himself when the cylinder exploded and caused fire in the house.

Neighbours rushed to rescue the remaining members of the family but they could not save the sleeping man nor any valuable belonging.

Firefighters, meanwhile, reached the area and succeeded in putting off the fire. The victim was a labourer, who had left a widow and two sons to mourn his death, said relatives of the victim.

Meanwhile, provincial minister Sardar Mohammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar instructed the taluka chairman of Khangarh, Haji Abdul Razaq Khan Mahar, and his team to provide ration, blankets and other necessary relief items to the affected family.
