GUJRAT: The entire system of Gujranwala Education Board is being digitalised that may save a sum of Rs735 million annually.

This was told by Gujranwala Commissioner Naveed Haider Sheerazi while briefing an official delegation headed by the chief minister’s task force on reforms in the examination system Muzamil Mahmood at a meeting in Gujranwala on Thursday.

Due to the shifting of on-online and digital system, the processing of documents and other necessary formalities, verification and others things, will become easier for the students and parents, said Mr Sheerazi who is also Chairman of the Gujranwala Educational Board.

He said the admission of at least 850,000 students of class 9 and first year was being made through online system as verification of biometric, photos etc of the candidates was being done through online system.

Moreover, he said that the affiliation of educational institutions with the board was also being done through an online system whereas all kind of services had also been shifted to the digital system and the staff attendance was already shifted to biometric verification.

A-multi purpose examination hall with a capacity of at least 1,000 students has been under construction in the compound of Gujranwala board whereas daycare center for female staff is also being planned.
