KOHAT: Khyber Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof Ziaul Haq inaugurated a state-of-the-art education block of the Postgraduate Medical Institute, Peshawar, at the Divisional Headquarters Hospital, Kohat, on Friday.

Opening of the block marked a significant milestone in the history of the hospital, according to a press release.

Prof Ziaul Haq also announced a grant of Rs5 million for the improvement of the hospital’s operation theater.

He reviewed designated areas for upcoming CT scan and MRI facilities, expressing his commitment to their swift implementation, which would significantly enhance diagnostic services in the region.

Former chief executive officer of Postgraduate Medical Institute, Peshawar, Prof Sahibzada Mahmood Noor, current CEO Prof Mohammad Noor Wazir, divisional commissioner, deputy commissioner, commandant CMH, faculty members and others were also in attendance.

On the occasion, Prof Haq said that the education block would help upgrade surgical services to meet international standards, benefiting both healthcare providers and patients.

In her concluding remarks, Prof Musarrat Jabeen, principal of Kohat Institute of Medical Sciences, emphasised that the block would not only elevate the quality of medical education and training but also improve patient care, representing a transformative step for the region’s healthcare system.
