3.6 magnitude quake jolts Kalat

KHUZDAR: A 3.6 magnitude eart­hquake jolted Kalat and its surrounding areas, on Sunday, causing the people to flee houses and seek shelter under open sky.

Officials said the quake struck the district headquarter of Kalat and other areas in the morning creating panic among the residents of Kalat.

According to the Pakistan Meteor­o­logical Department, the earthqu­ake had a depth of 33km and the epicenter was located 27km north of Kalat town.

Officials said no casualty and property damage was reported from Kalat and surrounding areas.

It was the third earthquake in last one week in the province after Chaman and Sibi.
