Kohat people promised better gas supply

KOHAT: After protests by the consumers, the authorities on Monday agreed to ensure gas supply with full pressure for 14 hours a day against the earlier six hours.

The additional deputy commissioner, SP Farooq Zaman, SNGPL manager Mohammad Vaqas and former district nazim Naseem Afridi signed the agreement to this effect here.

Earlier, consumers were provided gas with extremely low pressure from 6am to 8am, 12pm to 2pm, and 5pm to 7pm.

The former district nazim had led the protesters.

VISIT TO HOSPITAL: Provincial minister of law and parliamentary affairs Aftab Alam along with district development advisory committee chairman MPA Shafi Jan paid a visit to the District Headquarters Hospital late on Sunday night and found that attendants of patients were sleeping in the hospital’s corridors in severe cold.

The lawmakers directed the medical superintendent to construct a hall for them.

They also expressed anguish over the broken toilets, and ordered their immediate repair.

Mr Alam stressed that officials were servants of people, so they should serve them diligently.
