BAHAWALNAGAR: After a newborn was killed by stray dogs in Minchinabad a few days ago, three more incidents of dog attacks have been reported in the last two days in Bahawalnagar city and its surroundings.

In McLeod Ganj, an elderly woman was mauled by a pack of stray dogs while she was out shopping for household items. She was immediately taken to the rural health centre (RHC) in McLeod Ganj for treatment.

In another incident, a 10-year-old boy, Abu Bakar, from Mohallah Islamnagar, suffered severe injuries when a stray dog attacked him, tearing off part of his cheek on Wednesday. On Thursday, eight-year-old Talha sustained multiple injuries after being bitten by a stray dog and was rushed to a local hospital.

Citizens have complained that due to the incompetence of the municipal committees, dog attack cases were on the rise as nothing was being done to deal with the dogs despite repeated complaints.
